TiVo Watch: Saturday Edition

Tonight is all about the Who-niverse for me.

Doctor Who [BBC America]

The Doctor has a new travelling companion, Martha Jones. In tonight's Doctor Who (7PM CST), Martha and The Doctor must rescue William Shakespeare.

For Martha's first trip in the Tardis, the Doctor takes her back in time, to Elizabethan England. When they find William Shakespeare (Dean Lennox Kelly) under the control of deadly witch-like creatures, they must battle forces from the dawn of the universe to stop history being changed for ever.

Torchwood [BBC America]
The more I watch this show, the more in love I fall with it. And I am not alone. Torchwood (8PM CST) is BBC America's biggest hit ever.

Aliens walk the Earth - sleeper soldiers preparing to invade the world. Jack and the team investigate, after a burglary goes horribly wrong.

Hat Tip: Torchwood TV for the episode description. This is really my favorite fan site for this growing hit.

TiVo Watch: Saturday Edition

On Saturday night, my TiVo and I have plans. Two of my favorite shows return (one just to its former glory) to help take the edge off the writers' strike. My fingers are crossed that the AMPTP and the WGA are working it out right now.

Torchwood [BBC America]

Torchwood, the Dr. Who spinoff starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, is my second favorite sci-fi show after Battlestar Galactica. It is a lighter, campier version of the X-Files where the aliens and the monsters are in full view. The second season begins this Saturday at 8PM CST. And James Marsters, Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and ANGEL, joins the cast in a recurring role.

Trading Spaces [TLC]

Paige Davis is back on Trading Spaces starting this Saturday at 9PM CST on TLC.

I used to love this show. I never missed an episode. But when Paige was fired and a parade of designers I didn't know starting showing up I lost interest. Paige's return along with Doug Wilson and Laurie Hickson-Smith (two of my favorite designers from the early days) will get me back.
