The first round of playoffs went exactly as I expected.
Washington lost to Seattle. Washington is a mediocre team that played a light regular season schedule and had the added emotional element. But when faced with an opponent that is a bigger, better team they couldn't step it up.
Pittsburgh lost to Jacksonville. Jacksonville is a very strong team.
Tampa Bay lost to New York. Tampa Bay closed out the regular season struggling. They lost to the Texans. That was not a great portend of things to come. And New York is very good when they are ON. New York was so ON today.
Tennessee lost to San Diego. The one game I really had no interest in seeing actually turned out to be the biggest surprise. I expected San Diego to pull it out, but I didn't think it would come down to the wire like that.
So, next week we have the Divisional Playoffs:
New York vs. Dallas (my pick: Dallas)
Seattle vs. Green Bay (my pick: Green Bay)
San Diego vs. Indianapolis (my pick: Indianapolis)
Jacksonville vs. New England (my pick: New England)
I hope that the top 4 teams in the NFL (Dallas, Green Bay, Indianapolis and New England) survive this round and make it to their respective Conference Championship games. It would make some for unbelievable football. But next week won't be too shabby either.
